NaNoWriMo: An unwieldy acronym

I have decided to take part in NaNoWriMo.

Basically the concept is you sign up and commit to writing 50,000 words of something entirely within the month of November. Since I have a novel mostly ready to go, I think I can do this within about four hours a day, but I'm prepared for it to take longer. It's seven pages a day for all of November. Which very well could be the whole damn book.

I can't officially sign up until October, but I plan to. Maybe it'll provide me with some outside pressure. They say you should tell as many people as possible, so you'll be afraid to back down from the challenge, but they also say that about quitting smoking. And I've learned through my attempts at that that I'm not at all afraid to back down from a challenge.

I doubt I'll be posting my actual progress (since I won't have any time to edit anything) but I'll likely be posting about my progress, in case y'all are interested in how I'm doing with it.

I'm pretty excited. Wish me luck!

Well, Zorak163 (if that is your real name) I'm happy you stumbled here as well. Thanks much for your friendly comments. And great that you're gonna write this November. I wish you all the luck in the world (except for the luck I'm planning on using myself, of course.)

Thanks again for coming by.

You know, until now I never knew what that unwieldy acronym stood for. Thanks for expanding my horizons. =)
