Resolutions

Since I recently wrote a whole stupid novel about a guy and his New Year's resolutions, some of you may think that I'll be making some of my own as the calendar shift happens this evening.

Nope.

My birthday, however, is exactly six months from New Year's Day, and I made a resolution then. In honor of the new year, I shall renew this committment.

I resolve to write. This blog is a part of that, but not really what I had in mind when I initially made this resolution. I meant stories, essays, novels. The blog was designed merely to give me a reason to write every day. It has done this job surprisingly well, and will continue to serve this function in the new year, as I polish off the next two novels I have clanking around in my head.

Having done almost 200 posts, I'm still not sure what my blog is "about." But it makes me glad whenever people stop by and read something, and I've sort of even made some new friends as a result of this site. The blog stays.

So to everyone who stops by: old friend, new friend, or people searching for something on Google that this site just doesn't offer, I wish you a fantastic 2007.

At the risk of repeating myself:

I hope you fish your wish.

Look at you, not one but TWO novels in your head! If you're birthday is in 6 months, doesn't that mean you're a Gemini, hence two novels?

You keep on writing about whatever it is that you want to. It's good stuff, even if this isn't a blog about one particular thing, like UFOs or something like that.

Liz: You've kind of popped my balloon for my planned series of posts about UFOs. Oh, well.

And I'm a Cancer, so have no easy explanation for the duality thing other than I've been essentially not writing for 14 years.
