A nice day in Chicago
I strolled around my neighborhood today, taking pictures. It was a gorgeous day in Chicago—pretty much the first one of the year—and tomorrow promises more of the same (both the nice weather and the roaming camera fun). I do have some news to share, but for now I leave you with some images from today's wanderings. Plenty of additional new images adorn my Flickr page.

Love the last one.
THat car appears to have bullet holes along the side - is this normal?
Love the swings.
Each photo raises so many questions. I can see why so many people use photographs as a basis for short stories.

The Pope and his boss is fantastic. It allows for my dark view of religion. The flicker photos are mixed. Some have an identity that is very American, whereas others have captured a scene that I would recognise within my own area. Perhaps we are all connected and we're all really the same.
Great photos! You are making the most of the new toy! Now, stop teasing and tell us the NEWS you hinted at! :)
Those used cars ... they're probably perfectly OK!
Great photos - the one with the tyre is particularly evocative.
Minx: I'm pretty sure those are rivets from where there used to be piping. While bullet-holes themselves wouldn't be uncommon, that kind of precision certainly would be.
Caroline: Yes, we are all the same. My aim yesterday was to show some of the beauty and the ugliness of my neighborhood.
Shameless: Indeed, my new toy and I are having fun. News will come later. I'm not being mean. Just coy, I guess.
P Dráno: Well, somebody OK'd them...it's right there in the name.
Atyllah: Thanks very much. Walking past that tire on my way home the other night was what solidified my desire to roam and shoot in my neighborhood. Just seeing it there in the only vacant lot left on Augusta stirred something in me.
I stole your sad swing set photograph to use as my desktop image--it's really quite beautiful (scale, lines, patterns, etc...).
I hope it's okay that I stole it. I'm completely ethically defective; therefore, I have no frame of reference for right and wrong.

I love the tyre too. And I'm dying to know your news.
Minty: Absolutely fine. If I didn't feel like sharing, I'd turn off the option to download them. So long as nobody makes money off of the pics I take (or steals credit for them), I'm fine with them finding their way into your lives however you see fit. And I'm glad you liked that one. It was one of the ones that meant something to me when I shot it.
Verilion: News has been posted. It's not much, really.
CC: Thanks. I'm pretty happy with how they're turning out.
