Bonaventure Cemetery

I added another photo set to my Flickr page. This one is comprised of shots from my trip to Georgia last fall. Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. Not much else to say. It's beautiful and fascinating and a little sad.

A lot of the gravesites are very old, and some have ornate sculptures or benches. Songwriter Johnny Mercer is buried here, as are most of the real people Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is based upon.

There are trees everywhere, and the whole place feels hushed and still. Craig and I walked along the paths pretty quietly for most of the time we were there.

We spoke in stage whispers and never put our cameras away.

Seriously, there is nothing like a cemetery for pure beauty and this one looks fantastic.

Did you take a shot of Johnny Mercer's gravesite? I have a painting he did. Funny huh?
