Just type something and publish, right?

I seem to have forgotten how to blog. I was trying to keep a low profile during the contest, and now I seem to have lost the knack for typing up something of relative interest to share with the collection of virtual strangers I call Blogfriends.

Hmmm. For now—while I attempt to relearn this skill—I will direct you to my exclusive interview with a major movie star, first posted back in December. You can find it here.

Some days it just doesn´t flow, does it? I wrote a whole piece whining about something and nothing before I realised I was boring even myself. Delete is a good key, I find.

Thinking of a comment is hard too - sometimes a post can be fantastic and all I can think of saying is "I agree, well said sir" and such like.

The "witty replies" label adds pressure too.

Now I have to be funny.

Oh gosh, is that the phone ...

Just went and read this. Clever! As for the coming up blank thing.....it happens. Sometimes I can post 3,4 times a week without even trying hard. Others, I find myself thinking 'damn it has been 8 days post SOMETHING. I DO try to avoid posting just for the sake of posting though.

Hi Maht,
if you want to borrow my kids...or my day job...you can have 'em. They give me plenty excuses to neglect my blog.

enjoyed re-reading your interview with Spider-Man. Better than the new movie, anyhow...

I've been such a bad blogging friend lately. There's the 70ish hour work week, dad here from out of town, Mother's Day activities which took all weekend, working on my novel... damn, I need to trade lives with someone else, someone who lives in a sensory deprivation tank. The weird thing is, I've posted lots on my blog this week but haven't gotten around to reading/commenting on other folks as much. Usually, it's the other way around.

I have noticed you have been laying low. Just wanted to say thanks for the contest. I'll still be here when you find your voice again.

Mr. Zhisou: I apologize for the pressure my comment tag generates. Replies need not be witty. Nice to see you again. I've linked you.

BD: I was used to posting every day until the contest started. And then every post had to at least mention the contest. So I just have to get back in the swing of things.

Basest: I'm not looking for ways to avoid blogging. But, uh, thanks. And if my post is better than the new movie, it's only becuase Spidey is free to be himself.

Liz: I've been reading but not commenting or posting. Kind of the negative you, I suppose.

Struggles: Actually, I think I may take a crack at the meme you've posted. We'll consider it a psuedo-tag.

Sorry we've done this to you, Maht. That'll teach you for organising that amazing contest! :) Close your eyes, poke out your tongue, hold your hands in the air and hummmmmmmmmmmm. That'll get you thinking about new things to write. Trust me, it works! :)

sometimes write out long posts and realize they're boring
because most of the time they are!

Never mind - we are having a bodice-ripping time over at my place. Come and join me new project....

On the positive side Maht, I was away for three and a half days and came back and hadn't missed anything! Although what's Minxy up to? Hope you get back into the swing soon, meanwhile can I request a wee novel excerpt? Alternatively you could do what Shameless suggests...

You'll find your voice again. Enjoy the interview with Spidey :-) You haven't sent me a profile for the blog yet (a good way to start writing again!)

Shameless: Thanks for the tip, but I plan to save that for the day when I would like to write about my own gullibility.

Me: Since I tend to publush everything I write for this blog, I hope I'm not boring anyone...

Minx: I'll be over directly.

Ver: I'd wondered where you'd run off to. Glad you were able to catch up so quickly. A novel excerpt? Certainly. In the next day or two.

Liz: Totally forgot about that. Deep and humble apologies. Expect it soon.
