Phoctober the Halloweenth

Ah, the final day of Phoctobery fun. I'll be honest, there were times this month where I thought that I had bitten off too much, but the participation of others helped me to continue. Now, I suppose, I have much the same problem with NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo. I'll be counting on you, Blogreader, to help me through.

I expect I'll do a "Phoctober the Epilogueth" tomorrow, or maybe "Phoctober the thirty-second," so if I missed any links, please let me know so I can add them to that post.

First up today is the pumpkin that Micah made sinister via Sharpie® as we sat by the fire on Saturday.

To keep the Halloween theme going, here is a shot that Rich (when he was still known here as Dirk) emailed to me last year as "proof" of his theory that I am a werewolf. You can read my refutation of these charges here. True to the promise I made in that post, I still have never done a entry for this site entitled "I am not a disturbing looking weirdo."

And, lastly, here is a shot of me at work on Halloween a few years ago. My costume was "The Angel of Death on Casual Friday," (a hooded sweatshirt instead of the traditional business robes) but people ignored or didn't get the joke and found me terrifying instead. Ah, corporate America: how relentlessly you misunderstand me.

Other Phoctobering:

All Phoctober posts from this site.

Absolute Vanilla on the end of Phoctober and a beautiful countryside.

Taffiny gets spooky.

Matthew and his loved ones.

Basest has...uh, the same shot seven times, but with a reason.

It isn't too late to join the fun. Just do a photo post, mention Phoctober, and come and tell me about it in the comments.

I am quite struck now to think I was concerned earlier (and commented about such on a post of yours), that you might find something I had said creepy. If one of us might be considered creepy, I am quite certain that one of us would be you.

Nice, well no not nice, good, good Halloween photos. Now I am off to have nightmares about giant spider trees with casual friday angels of death jumping in and out of their branches. (goodness, I hope not) (actually more likely to have a not ready for NaNoWriMo stress dream)

*shiver, tremble, quake* - you are one scary dude, MoonT! ;-)
Good luck with NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo - hope it goes really well. You've kinda got your plate full this month with all that and the play! Best of luck with it all.

And tell me, after October the thirty-second will there be a phoctober the thirty-third too - and so on... :-)

I can't believe they misunderstood your Angel costume. Idiots.

Happy NaNo and NaBlo-ing blogging and writing fwend.

Oh I just lost my comment! I was saying that I dressed up as Death once for Halloween. I think the fact that I am 5 foot 4 and was also wearing glasses may have added to the comedy effect. Whereas if some tall dude with a realistic scythe came up to me I might have been scared. My scythe was made from a broom handle, cereal packets and much tin foil.

NaNo + NaBlo! Go Maht!

And the costume is scary/creepy in a good way.

Enjoyed Phoctober very much, enjoyed your photos and the writing that accompanied. I am very glad that I found Moon Topples.
As far as your Halloween costumes and looks are concerned, well, what can I say? Some people will never appreciate art and the artist behind the make up.
Nicely done, friend. Very happy to meet you, even if online.

PS: My challenge is, at least one photo every day, for next Phoctober!

Taffiny: Glad to have clarified the creepy/not creepy line for you. Uh, I think.

AbVan: Boo! Yes full plate, many balls in the air, plenty of metaphors to describe my current situation. Thanks for the well-wishes. And no, I have no plans to extend Phoctober at this time. Those posts take a long time! Plus, I'd like it to feel special if it's going to be an annual thing.

Sognatrice: I think, perhaps, you are mocking me a bit with regard to the costume. But that's cool. I'm used to such behavior from friends and Blogfriends. Good luck to you as well with NaNo and NaBlo.

Ver: You may have a point about my being tall and having a real-looking (although plastic) scythe. Also, you might not be able to tell from the picture, but I had a latex skull face glued over my own.

Liz: Thankya. And good luck to you as well.

GayƩ: I'm glad you participated this time around, and look forward to your contributions next year. It's been nice to meet you as well.

Well, I am glad you did.
I am still surprised however that someone who has been accused of being a werewolf couldn't put the W (word I am not saying) from Star Wars thing together.

Damn! I was all ready to post pix for the final day, but then life (and well, death actually) got in the way.

It was a brill project and a great opportunity to peek into other people's lives - from the broad sweep (oh those whales ...) to the tightest focus.

Nice one, Maht mate.

Debi: I am sorry to hear that your plans for Phoctobering again went awry. Still, there's always next year, no? And thanks.
