Phoctober the twentieth

Very late getting this in. My day just flew away from me in some unexpected ways. Apologies.

*****

Being tired—as one gets—of conventional, old-style pornography, I went last night to see the New Pornographers. My initial disappointment over such a misleading name quickly faded. Turns out that they are musicians. Pretty good ones, too. A fine time was had by all, except I did spend more than a few moments wishing I had a legitimate camera on my person...

Other Phoctobering:

All Phoctober posts from this site.

Absolute Vanilla and a, uh, brew of all sorts.

Jefferson Davis on water molecules in the air and other things.

Kyklops goes for a walk.

Taffiny shoots leaves in water.

It isn't too late to join the fun. Just do a photo post, mention Phoctober, and come and tell me about it in the comments.

I think our photo files all have room for those fuzzy gig shots, capturing a memory of sound. Your height is obviously an advantage - most of mine are intimate portraits of the person in front of me.

Looks like fuzzy fun! It was probably the prospect of porn that did it... ;-)

Have phoctobered again - some photojournalism taking a trip to the organic market and ending with a brief rave about our rugby world cup win!

Great band, and it looks like it was a semi-intimate venue (not a football stadium). Good show?
Speaking of music, one of my favorite Stones albums is Flowers.

I am glad it got away from you in unexpectedly good ways. Your photos make me want to hear the music.

Minx made me laugh, which is hard to do before noon (especially when I have a cold). Thanks Minx.

Tallmoon, I will confess however, that by such a non-answering answer, you are just creating intrigue, to a mind like mine. I don't get out much, I am not currently working on how to fix any of the worlds problems, and I don't have a lot of deep thoughts strewn about littering up my brain, so I have plenty of space left to ponder "how tall is tall?". I am petite by half an inch. Oh but I am not asking for more of an answer, my brain could use some irrelevant intrigue. Oh but I mean your height isn't irrelevant to you, of course. My goodness I just go on and on and on. Sorry.

Ooh I love live music, so will forgive you fuzzy shots. BTW I've posted a bunch of photos.

Everyone had such varied shots again... an African farmers market, lovely foggy trees, a captured moon, wet leaves and a racy concert!
Very fun!

Big smiles, glad you did this.

PS - will have more up, probably each day this week.

Minx: Even with height on my side, there was standing on tippy-toes and raising the camera above my head. I was not very close to the stage.

AbVan: It was fun. Neko Case is amazing.

Kyklops: About 300-500, I'd guess. Metro in Chicago. Intimate enough. And, yes, a very good show.

Taffiny: You can probably find some of their songs on MySpace...

Ver: Thanks for the forgiveness. And for the continued Phoctobering.

Scarlett: Yes, I'm glad as well. It's frustrating at times, as I am limited in what I can write about, but seeing all the shots from around the globe is definitely worth it.
