Phoctober the thirteenth
Autumn is coming slowly to Chicago this year. The trees whisper awkwardly to one another, afraid to go first. Soon, they will all gain their reds, golds and browns before discarding the leaves entirely to stand skeletal watch over the winter.

Hi Mr Moon,
long time no see... just returning after a bit of a blogging drought and thought I'd pop by to say. Not totally sure what this Phoctober thing is...feel like I've missed something!
Oh, pumpkin time!
Maht,
I gasped when I saw the first shot, I have one almost exactly like that, that I took in Paris. I'll post it tomorrow for you.
Love these shots!
Just bought a little pumpkin yesterday... I'm going to try for pumpkin soup... we'll see.
Put a new Phoctober post up, by the way.
And... could I please make a request that one of your Phoctober posts be the Union Station photos you mentioned?
Thank you!
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
beautiful words and pictures.
finally here- they are surrendering to their autumnal gowns.
I agree with Taffiny there, those are beautiful words and I love the Pumpkin and the contrast of colours. It also makes me think of Pumpkin soup and pie (not that I'm obsessed with eating or anything like that).
Oh and BTW I'm in the middle of doing a Phoctober post, which has a little something for you in it too.
The first shot looks like London. Glad to see I made the list too. I'm all photo-dry, so to speak.
Nice pictures, you have an eye for those little changes and contrasts that mark the seasonal shift. I somehow managed to pull myself out of bed this morning and greet the sun with camera in hand.
Thank you so much for including Fraulein Poesie - she is honoured, even though the quality of the photos and the talent of she who took them leave something to be desired. Still finding out what you can and can't do with a Samsung D600.
Ms. M: Hello! So nice to see you again! As for Phoctober, there are so few rules that surely you can catch up if you are so inclined.
Minx: Pumpkin time, indeed. Scarlett's making soup, if you want any.
Scarlett: I'd have to scan in the Union Station shot. It was done on "film." But I'll see if I can get time to do that before the month concludes. And Minx may be dropping by for soup. Hope that's cool.
Taffiny: Wow. That's very sweet. Thanks.
Ver: I had pumpkin pancakes on Saturday, and as I was eating them, I caught myself checking the dessert specials for pumpkin pie. You should not feel bad for your (alleged) food obsessions. Oh, and I saw the smile thing. How nice, thanks.
Shameless: Well, should your stock replenish during the month, make sure to let me know so that I might link you.
Matthew: An eye I might have for the coming of autumn is likely due to my sitting forlornly at my window these last few weeks, waiting for the change to come.
Signs: I was pleased to include your new friend. Such a happy post.
